On the request of Team Janisar, on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, a Civil Defense team led by Nasir Kiani sealed LPG gas refilling points in Westridge and Naseerabad police stations yesterday. Instead of confiscating all the goods, only a mock operation was conducted, a few motors and other goods were seized and the shops were sealed. On this mock operation, Hassan Aman, a senior journalist, social activist and Member RIUJ , has taken a stand in the petition submitted to the Deputy Commissioner that the Civil Defense authorities have clearly violated the orders of the Deputy Commissioner by not taking complete goods from the LPG refilling shops and the LPG mafia should be arrested. This has given them an opportunity to flourish their illegal business. On the other hand, the influential mafia has violated the law by breaking the government seals affixed on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, ignoring the law. It is a matter of concern for the Civil Defense and other law enforcement agencies that the shops which were de-sealed a few hours after the operation are still running LPG gas refilling business and after the start of the service, LPG gas refilling and illegal cylinders are being used in public transport vehicles. Team Janisar has again requested the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi to conduct a serious inquiry into this matter and take departmental action against the black sheep in the department.
